Healthy Lifestylez Secures Major Contract to Continue Delivery of “Be Active For Life” Programme Across Newry, Mourne and Down
Healthy Lifestylez is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the contract by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council to continue delivering the Be Active For Life programme, building on a successful partnership developed over the past three years.
The programme will commence on the 1st June 2026 with the potential to run until 2031.
The Be Active For Life programme is a key initiative led by the Council to increase participation in physical activity and improve health outcomes across the district. It provides a wide range of sports, fitness, and health-enhancing activities across leisure centres and community locations, engaging people of all ages, from children and young people to older adults and underrepresented groups.
Healthy Lifestylez will continue to deliver a comprehensive programme of indoor leisure classes, outdoor activities, seasonal sports camps, and community-based initiatives, working in close partnership with the Council’s Sports Development and Health Development team to ensure programmes remain inclusive, accessible, and responsive to local needs.
As part of the contract, Healthy Lifestylez will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing a team of qualified coaches, ensuring all sessions are delivered safely and to the highest standards of quality, safeguarding, and inclusivity. The programme will operate year-round across multiple sites, supporting sustained engagement and long-term behaviour change.
