Launch of Movement Assessment Platform
Healthy Kidz is proud to announce the launch of a pioneering Movement Assessment Platform and At-Home Games App, developed in partnership with MoveAhead and funded through Innovate UK Contracts for Innovation, as part of the Scaling Community Initiatives in Diet and Exercise competition.
This innovative solution marks a major milestone in our mission to:
- Quantitatively and objectively measure children’s Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS)
- Encourage pupils to stay active beyond the school environment
The new platform is designed to transform how schools assess and support physical development, offering a comprehensive, data-driven approach to movement education.
Key Features of the Platform Include:
- Baseline Movement Skill Capture: Conducted during PE and/or after-school programmes to establish each pupil’s starting point.
- Personalised, Game-Based Interventions: Delivered at home in Phase 2 (Terms 2 and 3), making physical activity fun and accessible beyond school hours.
- Automated Progress Reports: Generated for Principals, Teachers, Parents, and Coaches to track development throughout the academic year.
- Targeted Coaching Support: Enables focused, face-to-face guidance during PE sessions where needed.
Based on 15 years of research on kidz movement science, 200+ peer-reviewed papers and a proprietary movement dataset of 60million children, these reports will be especially valuable during school inspections, providing clear evidence of impact and a structured framework for assessing PE – addressing a long-standing challenge for many schools.
Chris Cousens, CEO of Healthy Kidz, commented:
“This platform represents a huge leap forward in how we support children’s physical development. By combining objective assessment with engaging, personalised interventions, we’re empowering schools, families, and coaches to work together in helping every child move better, feel better, and live more active lives. We’re incredibly proud to be leading this innovation, working alongside MoveAhead, and grateful to Innovate UK for their support.”
We’ve already reached out to the first 30 schools selected to participate in the initial rollout of the programme. Additional schools will be invited to join in Terms 2 and 3.
If you’d like your school to be part of the project, please contact us through our website or via email at coaching@healthy-kidz.com and one of the team will be in touch.
