Healthy Kidz receive funding from Department for Infrastructure to deliver road safety initiative

We are pleased to announce that the Department for Infrastructure has pledged funding to Healthy Kidz to support a road safety initiative. This will give us the opportunity to deliver our ‘Safe Kidz’ programme to 15 schools within the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area.

The aim of this project is to provide a road safety and physical activity programme for their pupils. Dylan McCann, our Programmes Co-Ordinator, has designed the Safe Kidz programme to specifically engage with young boys and girls aged 9-11 years (P5-P7).

Each session, lasting one hour, has been a combination of informational workshops, followed by physical activity-based exercises that will have Road Safety themes throughout. This is to encourage road safety and awareness to all KS2 children to prevent any accidents that may occur on roads and streets.
