Healthy Kidz and Healthy Teenz are delighted to announce we will be delivering a Health and Wellbeing Day in every Primary, Special and Secondary school in the Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council area.

The programme aims to target 40 schools with around 6000 children and young people in the Lisburn and Castlereagh areas benefiting from these days.

The main aims of the Health and Wellbeing Days are to develop the physical health and wellbeing of all children involved in the programme.  We will be delivering a fun and energetic session to approximately 6000 children and young people across Lisburn and Castlereagh.  We will deliver a well-structured programme that gets all pupils involved from the ages of 4-18 years old.

A further aim is to increase the social awareness, decision making and self-awareness in all children involved.  Mental health is at the forefront of our Health and Wellbeing Days, along with decreasing the levels of obesity in schools.

All schools across LCCC have been invited to take part in the initiative, commencing January 2022. We expect all schools to be covered by June 2022. Healthy Kidz will be collecting data after each session and this will be used to see the effect that the pandemic has had on membership of clubs and the activity patterns of young people, post-lockdown. This data will be gathered and presented back to council staff.
