Healthy Kidz are delighted to announce they will be delivering 'The Active Lifestyle Programme' on behalf of Mid Ulster Council.
This pilot programme will focus on the delivery of activities programmes specific and relevant to the leisure facility environment and focus on targeting specific groups within the local community.
The strategic context for developing this pilot programme is quite simply to provide increased physical activity participation options, a better-quality experience, encouraging more participation for all, including those in formalised sports and those not in formalised sports.
Healthy Kidz will launch this amazing and diverse programme to help people throughout the Mid Ulster Council District get active, improve physical and emotional health. The programme commences from Monday 7th Feb for 10 weeks across:
- Dungannon Leisure Centre
- Cookstown Leisure Centre
- Greenvale Leisure Centre
- Maghera Leisure Centre
- Moneymore Centre
- Mid Ulster Sports Arena
- Meadowbank Sports Arena


The programme is split into 3 themes and focus are as follow:
- Inclusive Coordination
- Pre & Post Natal Coordination
- Active Aging Coordination
The activities included in these themes will help to engage children and adults from 6 to 65+ in the Mid Ulster District Council area. The specific sessions that will be delivered by Healthy Kidz are:


A club for adults over 65 to improve their physical movements through sports. Multi Sports included, Walking, Basketball, Badminton, Fun Games, Walking Football & Pickle ball. A chance to exercise and socialize.
Cookstown Leisure Centre – Monday @ 1pm
Greenvale Leisure Centre – Tuesday @ 1.45pm
Maghera Leisure Centre – Wednesday @ 10am
Dungannon Leisure Centre – Friday @ 12pm
A fun multi-activity club focusing on facilitating primary school aged children with Autism to do things at their own pace, and for parents to get information and support. Children will develop key skills in a range of sports whilst working at their own pace. Movement with music is encouraged and work on fundamental skills such as balance and strength.
Suitable for girls and boys age 6-12 years old (Parents/Carers are present during session.)

Maghera Leisure Centre – Friday @ 5pm *from 18 February
Greenvale Leisure Centre – Friday @ 7pm
Mid Ulster Sports Arena – Saturday @ 9am
Perfect for beginners or regular practitioners of yoga. Simple movements guided by your breath to prepare your mind for meditation.
(Please bring water bottle)
Greenvale Leisure Centre – Tuesday @ 12.15pm
-Strength exercises – mobility exercises – cardio exercise – nutritional advice – all at own pace – lower intensity – get back to fitness
Focus on getting back to movement patterns, strengthen weak points and get an enjoyable social event.

Moneymore Recreation Centre – Monday @ 11.30am
Maghera Leisure Centre – Monday @ 2pm
Greenvale Leisure Centre – Thursday @10.30am

(Development Coordination Disorder)
A fun multi-sport club focusing on facilitating primary school aged children with Dyspraxia/DCD to do things at their own pace, and for parents to get information and support. Children will develop key skills in a range of sports. With focus on movement with music and working on their fundamental skills of agility and balance in a fun and engaging way.
Suitable for girls and boys age 6-12 years old (Parents/Carers are present)
Mid Ulster Sports Arena – Monday @ 5pm
Meadowbank Sports Arena – Wednesday @ 5pm
Dungannon Leisure Centre – Thursday @ 5pm
A multi activity club focusing on facilitating children and adults with disabilities to participate in various activities. All working at each individuals pace this Hub allows Movement with Music in a fun and engaging way. A great way to develop new skills in various sports whilst working on fundamental movements.
(Parents/Carers are present)
Mid Ulster Sports Arena – Monday @ 6pm and Saturday @ 10am
A class designed to ease tensions and reintroduce exercise in a safe and structured way after having your baby. Rebuilding strength and stability focusing on our core pelvic health to leave you feeling strong and stretched.
Baby Yoga uses yoga stretches, song and rhyme to boost baby’s gross and fine motor skills, language, and brain development. All this while bonding and having fun with Mum!
Your baby is welcome in the class as well so there is no need to find a sitter.
Moneymore Recreation Centre – Thursday @ 1.30pm
Maghera Leisure Centre – Friday @ 10.30am
Higher intensity class designed for mums who want to focus on getting back to movement patterns, strengthen weak points and get an enjoyable social event – (not suitable for children to attend)
Greenvale Leisure Centre – Thursday @ 11.30am
Pilates is a low impact way for women to move their body after having a baby or throughout their life span! It aims to strengthen the core and body helping to improve posture, back pain, muscle tone, balance, joint mobility and stress. Regular practice of Pilates has been shown to help address pelvic floor symptoms such as urinary leakage which can massively impact quality of life.
All props for the class are provided. Wear comfortable clothing and take water to hydrate. Remember to have eaten breakfast before attending the class.
It is necessary to fill in a health screen form before beginning the programme to understand suitability for participation:
- at least 6 weeks post birth (8 weeks if had a c section)
- you can be months / years postnatal to attend.

Refreshing and invigorating, get all the benefits of a great workout with this low- impact Water Aerobics class. Build strength and stamina while going easy on your joints. You don’t need to be able to swim to take part as all the exercises take place I the shallow end of the swimming pool for a low- impact, all round workout.
You don’t need to bring any special equipment with you to your Water Aerobics Class. Bring what you would take swimming: a swimming costume and a towel. Water shoes are optional.
Suitable for adults of all ages.
Please come to your class with a bottle of water to keep you hydrated during the session.
