In light of the prevailing pandemic we knew we needed to encourage kids to stay active, stay engaged and to be part of something that was new and exciting from Healthy Kidz.
When lockdown started the first initiative we designed and created was the Global Challenge, a fantastic incentivised online activity programme for 5 weeks. With Beat The Coach, Sports Specific Workouts, Well-being Tips and NET advice. (Nutritional Eyes and Teeth)
All following an online resource with video assistance and recorded on our App to ensure each activity was completed.
Over 35,000 activities recorded on our app across the 5 weeks.
Prizes were kindly donated by our friends in Blk Box, Stat Sports, TG Eakins, ABM Opticians and Magee Dental.
Healthy Kidz Virtual Sports Day
One of the most exciting days of the school calendar is sports day.
As we are in uncertain times regarding school life and how it might look, we need school children to have a little bit of ‘normality’.
As we created and designed our Virtual sports day for P1 – P7, we needed pupils to be connected with their schools. Every day of activity was recorded on our App which allowed their teachers to view their practice via a private dashboard to maintain a level of connectivity with their classes during this time.
Over the 5 weeks of practice and preparation each child was given the chance to record their activity. These included the Egg & Spoon Race, the Sprint, Long Jump and many more.
Over the 5 weeks with over 22,000 children signed up, 571 schools we hit the magic number of 1 MILLION activities.
We would like to further thank our partners SPAR, EUROSPAR, VIVO, VIVO XTRA & VIVO ESSENTIALS for their support in the Healthy Kidz Virtual Sports Day.
Also, we would like our parents for taking the time to encourage your children and sending in the hundreds of photos and videos. These can be viewed on our YouTube channel.
Its been a busy lockdown in many ways with homeschooling and trying to keep some sort of normality – whatever that may be.
